What is Kamra PMS?
Kamra is an open-source property management system for hotels and vacation rentals. It covers front desk, billing and taxes, restaurant POS, housekeeping, and commission-free direct bookings. Install it from the Frappe Cloud Marketplace, self-host it free under AGPL-3.0, or run it on Kamra Cloud.
Can I install Kamra on Frappe Cloud?
Yes. Search and install from the Frappe Cloud Marketplace
on a private Frappe v16 bench, then open /kamra/setup.
Prefer Azure, AWS, Hostinger, or another cloud?
We can help you host there too.
Is anything locked behind a paid plan?
No. Every feature in Kamra is open source and included in both self-host and Cloud. Cloud adds hosting, support and connected services that carry third-party licensing costs (like live GST e-invoicing through a licensed provider). Services, not feature gates. The GSTR export files are free for everyone.
Why don't you charge per room?
Because adding rooms doesn't make software cost more. Per-room pricing is a tax on your growth. Cloud pricing scales only with the server your property needs.
What server do I need to self-host?
A 2 vCPU / 4 GB RAM / 40 GB SSD VPS runs a full property comfortably. What you pay the host depends on the provider. Step-by-step guides here.
Can I leave Kamra Cloud later?
Yes. It's your data on open-source software: export everything and self-host any time. That's the point.
Does the AI decide prices or taxes?
Never. Rates, taxes and availability come from a deterministic pricing engine verified by an automated test suite. The AI can only call governed tools, as a permission-checked user, with every action logged.
